STEAM Kits
We are excited to be able to offer STEAM Kits – toys and activities that build skills in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. These are educational (and fun!) items that will engage adults and children alike. We hope that these deliver positive, hands-on learning experiences that will provide opportunities for discovery and challenges.
How to Borrow and Return

Free to borrow with valid Kawartha Lakes Public Library card.

Loan Period: Kits can be borrowed for 1 week and are renewable if there are no existing holds.

Placing a Hold:

Select the kit you're interested in and click "Borrow" to place a hold on the online catalogue.

A hold must be placed in advance. Library staff will contact you when your kit is ready for pickup.

You can choose to pick up your kit at any of our 14 branches.

Returns: Kits must be returned during branch open hours, as they do not fit in book drops.

Babu Rocker
Age: 12 months +
Develop skills in the areas of colour sorting, stacking and balancing, or get creative and build things like doughnuts, sailboats or merry-go-rounds.
Babu Stacker
Age: 6 months +
The rainbow pieces can be stacked by size to create a traditional pyramid, or twisted and turned to make a more playful shape that pushes the limits of gravity.
Block Puzzle
Age: 24 months +
Complete the different sides of this puzzle to see different animals. 6 in 1 puzzle set.
Fast Flip Racetrack
Age: 18 months +
Watch your race cars flip over one another as they come racing down! Which of the cars do you think is fastest? Race them all down the track and record the results!
Lacing Woodland Wildlife
Age: 18 months +
Assemble a parade of jungle animals to spark wild adventures. A great activity to develop fine motor skills.

Age: 10 months +

Shape Sorter Xylophone
Age: 12 months +
Match the puzzle pieces to their corresponding holes by either shape or colour and make wonderful music by either pressing the puzzle pieces or hitting the metal bars with the baton!
Spin Again
