Credentials
Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) credentials
- 2-year college Primary Care Paramedic diploma program, Ministry of Health Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant and medical director certification
- Professional rescuer level CPR/AED, basic trauma life support, symptom relief and 12/15 lead EKG interpretation
- Certified to administer ASA, Nitroglycerin, Glucagon, Ventolin, Gravol, Benadryl and Epinephrine
Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) credentials
- Primary Care Paramedic certification
- One additional year at an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic college, Ministry of Health Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant and medical director certification
- Skill set and direction for a Primary Care Paramedic as well as enhanced focus on advanced life support skills (advanced assessment, advanced airway management, intravenous therapy, intraosseous needle insertion, chest needle decompression, manual defibrillation, external portable heart pacemaker and various medications to support ALS care)
