We are pleased to offer a variety of Fitness Programs, Memberships and Classes for all fitness levels and interests both at the Lindsay Recreation Complex in Lindsay and the Forbert Memorial Pool and Workout Centre in Bobcaygeon.

Registration for the Fall 2025 session began on Tuesday August 26, 2025 at 9am through our Online Program Registration website. 

Member Drop-In Fitness Program participants will be required to have an active Membership. Members can pre-register up to 14 days in advance for their desired Member Fitness Program using our Online Program Registration website.

Registered Fitness Program participants required to pre-register and do not require an active Membership for their desired program.

Lindsay Recreation Complex

The Lindsay Recreation Complex boasts a 25 metre 6 lane pool, a therapeutic warm pool; both of which host a variety of aquatic programming year-round.

The facility also features an on-deck Sauna, Change Room Facilities and Showers; Two Ice Pads, Two International sized Squash Courts, a fully equipped Weight Room and Cardiovascular Gym and a Fitness Studio with cushioned maple floors.

A variety of membership options are available for this facility. Personal Training and Fitness Consulting are offered as a specialized service and are available for Members.

Hours of Operation: Hours are subject to change. Please note, the Weight Room/Gym will be closed on Statutory Holidays. To obtain current hours of operation, contact the facility directly by calling 705-324-9112 or e-mail the Lindsay Recreation Complex.

Weight Room Hours of Operation

Members:
Monday to Friday from 6am until 9pm
Saturday and Sunday from 8am until 8pm

Non-Members:
Monday to Friday from 6:30am until 9pm
Saturday from 10am until 4pm
Sunday from 2:30pm until 6:30pm

Squash Courts
Squash Courts at the Lindsay Recreation Complex are open. Courts are available for reservation to both members and non-members.

How to book a Squash Court:

  • Members can book through our Online Program Registration website, in person at the Lindsay Recreation Complex or over the phone by calling 705-324-9112.
  • Non members will be required to book in person at the Lindsay Recreation Complex or over the phone calling 705-324-9112. Payment will be required at time of booking.

Reservations are required and can be booked up to 14 days in advance.

Squash Court Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday 7am to 8:30pm
Saturday 10am to 3pm
Sunday 2pm to 6:30pm

Patrons must reserve their desired court times in advance. Time slots are subject to availability.

Forbert Memorial Pool and Workout Centre

The Forbert Memorial Pool and Workout Centre in Bobcaygeon features a 3 lane swimming pool; the fully equipped Workout Centre hosts a variety of free weights, multi-station selectorized equipment, stability balls, tubing, balance boards and more to easily accommodate a full body workout.

The facility hosts a variety of land fitness and aquatic programs for all fitness levels. A variety of membership options are available for this facility. Personal Training and Fitness Consulting services are offered as a specialized service for Members.

Hours of Operation:
Monday through Thursday from 6:30am until 8pm
Friday from 6:30am until 2pm
Saturday from 8:30am until 4pm
Sunday from 12pm until 4pm

  • All exercisers must wipe down equipment down with disinfectant spray provided after each use (handles, seats, backrest, consoles etc.). Please spray paper towel first, avoid spraying into the air or directly on equipment. Discard paper towel after each use.
  • Do not use facility if you are feeling sick (fever, sore throat, cough, running nose, etc.)
  • Clean, indoor footwear must be worn in all areas of the fitness facility.
  • No sandals, other 'open footwear', sock feet or bare feet will be permitted.
  • Shirts must be worn.
  • No persons under the age of 16 are permitted in the Weight Room.
  • Loitering is not permitted. Please be respectful of all facility users and move fluidly from one machine to the next.
  • Phone calls and texting is not permitted in the Weight Room.
  • For safety reasons, when wearing earbuds; please keep your music volume low enough that you can hear people speaking to you.
  • There is a 30-minute maximum on all cardio equipment. Please be respectful of the class schedule posted as equipment may be reserved during these times.
  • Spotters must be used on all heavy lifts with free weights.
  • Weights should be placed, not dropped on the floor. Machines should be used in a controlled manner.
  • Members are responsible for unloading machines and returning weights to the appropriate racks when they are finished with them.
  • No food or beverage is permitted in the Weight Room (with the exception of water)
  • No chalk in the Weight Room.
  • The use of profanity or other disrespect for fellow members of facility or staff will not be tolerated.
  • Access cards may not be shared and must be accessible to the user at all times while in the Weight Room. If asked, users must produce their access card for staff. Members that have forgotten their membership card may get a temporary access card at the Front Desk.

Failure to abide by any of these rules may result in loss of Membership with no refund.

  • The Lindsay Recreation Complex upper floor Fitness Change Rooms will be available for washroom, changing, locker and shower use.
  • Participants will be required to place their belongings in the appropriate indicated areas.
  • Lindsay Recreation Complex patrons will be required to remove outdoor footwear in the pool lobby area, put on indoor footwear and proceed to the Fitness Studio via the lower floor Weight Room.
  • Forbert Memorial Pool and Workout Centre patrons will be required to remove their outdoor footwear in the front entrance area and change into their indoor shoes prior to entering the Workout Centre.
  • No spectators will be permitted. All attendees must be registered and participate in the fitness class.
  • When attending Fitness Programs and Weight Room members will need to have their Membership Cards with them in order to open Weight Room doors at the Lindsay Recreation Complex.

How do I sign up for a Membership?

Memberships for both the Lindsay Recreation Complex and the Forbert Memorial Pool and Workout Centre are available for purchase over the phone by calling 705-324-9411 extension 1555 or extension 1560 or by calling the Forbert Memorial Pool and Workout Centre at 705-738-5858.

Memberships can also be purchased in person at the Front Desk of the Lindsay Recreation Complex. Please call ahead to confirm Front Desk hours of operation by calling 705-324-9112.

Payment will be required at time of registration.

Is a Membership required to use the Weight Room and Workout Centre?

Yes, an active Health or Corporate Membership is required to use the Weight Room at the Lindsay Recreation Complex and an Active Health/Fitness Membership is required to access the Workout Centre at the Forbert Memorial Pool and Workout Centre in Bobcaygeon.

Do I need to register in advance for a class or can I just drop in the day of the class?

All participants will be required to register up to 14 days in advance for their desired program. All participants must be registered ahead of time and cannot just show up to participate in a class.

Do I require a Membership to book and attend fitness classes?

An active Health or Corporate Membership will be required in order to book Drop In Fitness Classes.

A Membership is not required for Group Fitness program, unless otherwise stated. 

All Fitness programs require pre-registration to be completed online through our Online Program Registration website

Is Personal Training available?

Personal Training has resumed. For details contact the Fitness Coordinator directly by calling extension 705-324-9411 extension 1555.

Are the Squash Courts open? 

The Squash Courts at the Lindsay Recreation Complex are open. Courts are available for reservations for both members and non-members.

How do I cancel a Drop In Fitness Class or a Public Swim?

If you are unable to attend a time slot that has been booked for a Drop In Fitness Class or for a Public Swim, please call either the Lindsay Recreation Complex at 705-324-9112 or the Forbert Memorial Pool and Workout Centre at 705-738-5858 to cancel so that the spot can be opened up for another participant.

Refunds, Cancellations and Service Interruptions

Refunds for programs:

We reserve the right to cancel programs due to insufficient registration. In these cases a full refund/credit will be issued. Refunds/credits for any other reason are subject to approval and a 15% (minimum $5) administration fee. All requests must be made in writing to the program coordinator via e-mail to: recreation@kawarthalakes.ca. Refunds under $20 will be issued only as credit on account for future Parks and Recreation services.

Refunds for Drop In Programs:

Once a reservation has been made if you are unable to attend your scheduled booking please call 705-324-9112 to cancel your space. Due to limited spaces available, any fees paid will only be refunded as a credit on your account if the cancellation is received a minimum of 48 hours before the booking time. If cancellation is made with less than 48 hours notice fees are non-refundable.

Cancellations and Service Interruptions:

We will post all program cancellations as an alert on our website and on our Facebook Page. Programs will not operate on statutory holidays unless otherwise stated. For details, please call 705-324-9112.

To cancel a Member Drop In Fitness program, follow these steps:

  1. Login to our Online Program Registration website: https://kawarthalakes.perfectmind.com using your username and password.
  2. Scroll down to ‘Schedules
  3. Select ‘Switch to List View
  4. Select ‘Actions’ and ‘Withdraw
