Skating
There are several arenas throughout Kawartha Lakes that operate community programs, including a variety of ice sports for families and individuals of all ages. These programs include Accessible Skate, Public Skate, Parent and Tot, Shinny, Senior Shinny, Women’s Shinny, Youth Shinny, Stick and Puck, Senior Skate and Ticket Ice.
Participants are able to register for their desired Public Skate up to 14 days in advance through our Online Program Registration website.

Purchase an Adult, Child, Senior, Shinny, Stick and Puck, or Ticket Ice Ten Pass and get ten admissions for the price of nine!

Arena Directory
Our seven arenas host eight ice pads, the majority of which are maintained from September through March with the exception of the Lindsay Recreation Complex ice which is maintained year-round.
During the summer months, Arena Floors are available for ball hockey, lacrosse, special events and more. All Community Centre Arena ice and floor bookings are coordinated through the Facility Booking Office.

Shinny
Stay active with our drop-in Shinny! Kawartha Lakes offers Shinny for all, including Women's Shinny, Youth Shinny and Senior Shinny Drop-In opportunities.
These non-contact, co-ed programs are not intended for organized teams. CSA-approved helmets are mandatory and full equipment is highly encouraged.
Shinny Schedules
Pre-registration is recommended to guarantee your spot! Players and goaltenders are to register for their respective program through our Online Program Registration website.

Stick and Puck
This program is an opportunity for caregivers (18 years of age and older) and their children (ages 3 to 12 years old) to practice and develop their hockey skills in a non-competitive environment.
There's a maximum of two children per caregiver and children must be accompanied on the ice.
Stick and Puck Schedules
Pre-registration is recommended to guarantee your spot! Each family/group is to register once, using the adult's name, for up to three skaters (one adult with a maximum of two children). Children do not need to register or make payment. Registration takes place through our Online Program Registration website.

Stick and Puck Rules
The following Stick and Puck program rules apply and must be followed at all times. Failure to follow the program rules, may result in being asked to leave the facility without refund.
- Open to children aged 3 to 12 years old, and must be with a caregiver 18 years of age and older.
- Maximum two children per caregiver.
- Children must be accompanied and supervised on the ice by an adult (18 years of age and older).
- No slap shots, wrist shots, or any form of aggressive play.
- CSA-approved hockey helmets and face cages are mandatory for children.
- Gloves and elbow pads are strongly recommended.
- All adults (18 years of age and older) are required to pre-register and list all children attending with them (maximum of 2 children).
