Fines and Fees
Effective October 1, 2020, the Kawartha Lakes Public Library will no longer be charging overdue fines, except for fines on Interlibrary Loan items. Patrons will still be responsible for the replacement of materials that are lost or damaged. More information can be found at Fine Free FAQ.
Items returned late are subject to overdue fines. Once your fines exceed $10.00 your borrowing privileges will be suspended.

Keep in mind, anything you return in the book drop will be considered returned on the last day the branch was open.
Lost or damaged items
You will be charged to replace any lost or damaged items. When you are billed for the item you will be charged a non-refundable processing fee. The charge to replace the item will depend on how the price is listed in our cataloguing records. If no price is listed you will be charged based on the table below:

We will not accept replacement copies or donations in lieu of payment for lost or damaged materials.
Lost cards
It costs $3.00 to replace a lost or damaged library card.
Blocked accounts
Library accounts are blocked if:
- you have fines owning of more than $10.00
- you have more than four or more items that are overdue
You will not be able to renew items online through your account if you have four or more items overdue so please contact the library if you would like to renew them.
