How to Borrow Accessible Materials

Most accessible collection items can be borrowed with your regular Kawartha Lakes Public Library card. Some specialized devices, such as Daisy Readers, may require additional registration. If you need help choosing a format, our staff are happy to make recommendations.

Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA)

CELA offers reading materials to people who have trouble reading print due to a print disability. Visit the CELA website to learn more. 

To register with CELA:

How to Self-Register with CELA

  1. Type in the name of your community: Kawartha Lakes
  2. Click on the name of your library: Kawartha Lakes Public Library
  3. Enter your 14-digit library card number (no spaces)
  4. Fill in the registration form

Educator Access Program

CELA’s Educator Access Program supports students who have trouble reading due to a print disability. Learn more about the Educator Access Program.
