    Notice of Temporary Service Disruptions:
    Lindsay Recreation Complex June 16 to June 22, 2025.
    Notice: There will be temporary service disruptions at the Lindsay Recreation Complex, which will restrict elevator access to Pad 1 and the Community Room viewing areas due to private events happening on the following dates and times:

    Parks and Recreation Storm Clean-up Update – June 13, 2025

    Kawartha Lakes – Parks and Recreation is making progress on outdoor space clean-up from the 2025 Ice Storm.

    As staff work tirelessly to cleanup from all the damage, these spaces are beginning to open back up for public use.

    Parks and Recreation will continue sharing weekly updates stating which spaces are open and which spaces remain closed. Please stay safe in all areas and away from those that still remain closed.

  • City of Kawartha Lakes Committee of Adjustment Notice of Public Hearing for Minor Variance 20250612

    Take notice, that the Committee of Adjustment of the City of Kawartha Lakes will hold a Public Meeting on June 26, 2025 at 1:00pm in the Council Chambers City Hall, 26 Francis Street, Lindsay, Ontario, to consider minor variance/permission applications, D20-2025-046, D20-2025-047, D20-2025-048, D20-2025-049, D20-2025-050, D20-2025-051, D20-2025-052, D20-2025-053, D20-2025-054 and D20-2025-055. A number of applications will be considered at this meeting. The applications are considered in the order that they appear on the Agenda and it may take some time before an application is dealt with at the meeting. The minor variance/permission applications being considered are listed below:

    Parks and Recreation Storm Clean-up Update – June 6, 2025

    Kawartha Lakes – Parks and Recreation is making progress on damage clean-up of all Trails, Cemeteries, Boat Launches, Parks and Forest Tracts, from the 2025 Ice Storm.

    As staff work tirelessly to clean-up from all the damage, these spaces are beginning to open back up for public use.

  • HKPR encourages community to Monitor Air Quality as Wildfire Smoke Begins Impacting Region

    Kawartha Lakes — With active wildfires continuing in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (HKPR) District Health Unit and Peterborough Public Health (Health Unit) are closely monitoring local air quality conditions through Environment Canada’s Air Quality Health Index. As smoke from these fires may begin to affect the region, the Health Unit is providing important health guidance, resources, and tips to help residents stay informed and prepared for potential environmental and health impacts.
