    Kawartha Lakes – Spring curbside leaf and yard waste collection returns this June. Residents are asked to please place leaf and yard material in dry paper bags at their curb before 7am on your designated date.

    Celebrating National AccessAbility Week 2025: Honouring champions of inclusion

    Kawartha Lakes – National AccessAbility Week is observed across Canada beginning the last Sunday in May, and in 2025, it takes place from May 25 to May 31. This week is dedicated to recognizing the contributions of persons with disabilities and promoting efforts to create a barrier-free, inclusive society for all Canadians. It also shines a light on the important work being done by allies, organizations and communities to foster accessibility and inclusion.

    Notice: There will be temporary service disruptions at the Lindsay Recreation Complex, which will restrict elevator access to Pad 1 and the Community Room viewing areas due to private events happening on the following dates and times:

    Proposed Surplus Declaration, Closure, and Sale - Road Allowance for Eldon Station Road

    Take Notice that, pursuant to By-law 2018-020, as amended, the Council of The Corporation of the City of Kawartha Lakes will hear a proposal to declare a portion of road allowance for Eldon Station Road legally described as Part of the Original 66' Road Allowance Between Lots 20 and 21, Concession 6, Eldon, City of Kawartha Lakes, surplus to its needs at its Regular Council Meeting to be held on July 22, 2025 commencing at 1:00 p.m.  The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 26 Francis Street, Lindsay, Ontario. City Council is scheduled to proceed to pass a by-law to stop up and close that part of the road allowance and authorize the sale of the land to the adjacent property owner.

    Kawartha Lakes – The Olde Gaol Building that hosts the Kawartha Lakes Museum and Archives, will be undergoing significant repairs over the next several months. The repairs are to restore the building envelope of this iconic heritage building.

    Kawartha Lakes communities to receive funding for 2025 Canada Day events

    Kawartha Lakes –The municipality will provide a total of $10,000 in Canada Day funding to support eight communities in Kawartha Lakes celebrating Canada Day. The funding is in addition to the $14,000 in support received from the Federal government through the Canadian Heritage Celebrate Canada Program.

    Parks and Recreation Storm Clean-up Update – May 23, 2025

    Kawartha Lakes – Parks and Recreation outdoor spaces are still weathering the storm... as you all know, our beautiful and plentiful, outdoor spaces closed due to significant damage and safety concerns from the recent Ice Storm.

    As staff work tirelessly to clean-up from all the damage, these spaces are beginning to open back up for public use. Parks and Recreation will continue sharing weekly updates stating which spaces are open and which spaces remain closed. Please stay safe in all areas and away from spaces that are still closed.

    Parks and Recreation Storm Clean-up Update – May 17, 2025

    Kawartha Lakes – Parks and Recreation outdoor spaces took a huge hit during the Ice Storm and closed due to significant damage and safety concerns.

    As the municipality shifts into Storm Clean-up, these outdoor spaces will slowly begin to open. Parks and Recreation will be sharing weekly updates stating which spaces are open and which spaces remain closed.
